Adrián Talavera

Postdoctoral researcher – Google Scholar

He obtained his PhD in Genetics in 2024 at Evolutionary Biology Institute (Barcelona, Spain). During his PhD studies he applied genomics to study various groups of reptiles and amphibians, addressing topics ranging from conservation and systematics to the role of introgression in ecological adaptation and the evolution of certain genes, such as venom-encoding genes in viper or hemoglobin in mountain-dwelling lizards.

At CREAF, he holds a postdoctoral position at Oriol Lapiedra’s lab. He explores the genomic bases of behaviour in the Ibiza wall lizard, an endangered reptile under strong selective pressures due to an ongoing snake invasion.

His field of study includes evolutionary genomics, population, genetics and molecular ecology.
